KCR - New Diesel Locomotives ER20

 

 

  

Now a day, the 12 existing KCRC 's diesel locomotives were not enough for maintenance services and freight services. At last year, KCRC had booked 5 more new diesel locomotives from Siemen, Germany/Austria. The new diesel lcocmotive is ER20 which modified from OBB Class 2016 Hercules "Eurorunners".

Power : 2000 kW
Tractive : 235 kN
Max.Speed : 80 Km/h (Original model - 140Km/h)
Length : 19823 mm (Longer than original model)
Width : 2870 mm (Thinner that original model)
Radio system : IRS radio system



The new diesel loco ER20 was parking beside of running shed.
Road number 8002.
Both new diesel locos were parking at outside.

The new 5 diesel locomotives were landing at Hung Hom Freight Yard in 13th Sept, 2003. Our member Mr. Arthur Lau had took a landing record as same day.
