| Beijing
(BJ) locomotives are maded by "February 7 Locomotive Work".
They are distributed at Central China (such as Wuhan), Northern China
(such as Zhengzhou and Beijing) and North-east China for hauling passinger
trains. Now their production was stopped and are slowly replaced by newer
generation of locomotives.
BJs are different from DF that they use hydraulic transmission
and Bo-Bo type bogie. They have a "Tiananmen" logo at the front
and can be easily recognised. Train enthusiaists like to call them "Little
Beijing". There are two types of "Little Beijing": One
has two driving cabinets and the other one has a single cabinet. (The
latter type is seldom seen.) The "Large Beijing" are used at
the Russian-China boundary.
