(Reported by Mr. Henry Tang)

| 25/12/2002 | Depart from Guangzhou |
| 26/12/2002 | We arrived Luohe Station at 6
am. Train fans from Zhengzhou, Zhangzhao and Yang Chengpo picked up outside our
passenger coach. We took Train 1512/1513 at 07:24 to Pingdingshan East Station. We arrived Pingdingshan Dong at 8 am. Local train fans Zhaoning (zhaomjy) and Wang Yajun picked up at the platform. The temperature was -8 degree Celcius (very cold!). First, we went to the coal yard to see the small shunting engines called Deli and Taihang. Then we had a look at a large machine for unloading coal. At 11 am, we walked to Pingdingshan Steam Depot. We had lunch at Pingdingshan downtown. At 1:30 pm, we took a train hauled by JS to Baofeng. At 3 pm, we arrived at Baofeng and had a look at Baofeng depot. We took Zhongyuan Star at 19:44 from Luohe to Zhengzhou. We arrived Zhengzhou at 21:10. During the day, we have walked over 10 km. We fell asleep quickly. |
| 27/12/2002 | In the morning, we were led by
Zhangzhao and Liu Xueli to Zhengzhou Depot.
Zhengzhou Depot is rail-fan's heaven and is worth to visit. We took photos
there and we had nearly forgotten to have our lunch! We went to take photos of passing trains at Longhai Line, Jingguang Line and Zhengzhou Freight Line. We met the 6K electric locomotive imported from Japan. We had dinner with Liu Haowei (Little Danny). He is the supervisor of Jingwe Speed Train and introduced a lot of technical information to us. In the morning, we had a look at
Zhengzhou Depot and a railway college. We visited the Zhengzhou north shunting yard, departure yard and depot. At 11 pm, we took Train 2153 to Wuchang and finished our trip in Zhengzhou. (photo here) |
| 29/12/2002 | We arrived at Wuchang at 7:40
am. We visited Huanghe Tower, Wuhan Changjiang Bridge and photed the
passing trains at Jingguang Line. At 5:24 pm, we took Train T95 to Shenzhen. However, the train was full and we could not buy tickets for sleepers. So we paid RMB 30 and sit at the Canche (dinning coach) for 1 night. We were surprised that at 1 am, staff of Canche woke us up and gave us a late dinner! |
| 30/12/2002 | Arrived at Shenzhen |
